Concrete stepped wall footings require continuous reinforcement matching standard footing details. The vertical face of the steps must be cast directly against undisturbed earth. If excavation ravels, backfill with concrete simultaneously when the footing is cast. The step height is limited to two feet maximum with a horizontal run of at least twice the height. Minimum footing depth and width dimensions govern the concrete profile.
