An eight-inch concrete foundation wall is supported by a concrete footing and reinforced with number five bars at eighteen inches on center each way, with alternate bends and hooked dowels lapped per structural notes. A concrete slab on grade ties into the wall above the footing at a specified minimum thirty-inch height. The slab must be constructed prior to backfilling against the wall. Vertical reinforcing at similar conditions uses number four bars at six inches on center each way.
