Roof deck per plan bears on a structural steel beam sized per plan. A one-half-inch thick plate matching the flange width is welded to the beam flange with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds near side and far side typically. An ED-1 edge detail connects the roof deck to the top flange. One-quarter-inch fillet welds with three-inch length spaced at three inches typically secure the components.
