A lowered structural steel beam connects to the web of a primary supporting member using a welded shear plate and a specified number of bolts. The shear plate welds to the supporting member and bolts to the supported beam web with short slotted holes utilized where noted. A full-depth plate is provided at locations lacking an opposing beam within two feet. Weld sizes, plate thickness, and bolt counts correspond to the structural connection schedule.
