A structural steel stair stringer terminates at a mid-landing panel, connected via a 5/16 inch by 5-1/2 inch by 9-inch plate secured with three 3/4-inch-diameter ASTM A325-N bolts in 13/16-inch by 3-inch long slotted holes. A 1/2-inch gap is maintained at the connection, and a CJP weld joins the stringer components. Stair treads and mid-landing panels are provided per others, with specific supports left free of screws to allow movement.
