A slab-on-ground edge condition interfaces with a door threshold keyway formed in the concrete. A one-half-inch flexible closed-cell foam plank lines the vertical face at the door keyway, while a one-quarter-inch flexible closed-cell foam plank with sealant is placed at the slab joint. Number 4 bent reinforcing bars are located with one-inch clearance to the top of the slab, with matching number 4 bent bars at two inches clearance to the bottom of the slab for slabs seven inches or thicker. Reinforcement is bent as required to avoid crossing construction or contraction joints.
