New structural steel angle auxiliary web members measuring 2 by 2 by 1/8 inches are installed on each side of the truss web. A typical 1/8-inch fillet weld with field weld flag secures the auxiliary web to the truss chord. Loads applied within 6 inches of panel points do not require auxiliary webs. A note directs the contractor to notify the engineer if existing steel truss configurations conflict with the addition of these auxiliary web members.
