A wide flange column connects to a base plate sized per plan and secured with anchor bolts spaced evenly around the perimeter. The column section is welded to the base plate using a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld applied to both the flange and web. Edge distances are set at two inches typically, with equal spacing maintained between anchor bolts.
