A wide flange beam rests over a wide flange column utilizing a bearing plate matching the column width and depth. Four three-quarter-inch diameter A325 through-bolts secure the bearing plate at standard gage. Stiffener plates are placed on each side of the column web, with thicknesses matching the column flange, and welded on three sides with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. A Type XS connection is referenced for the beam-to-column web interface.
