A structural steel column bears on a base plate with a thickness of one and one-half inches, positioned over a one-and-one-half-inch layer of non-shrink grout. Anchor bolts extend through oversized holes in the base plate and are secured with heavy-duty washers and standard-sized holes typical. Means of leveling and elevation control are provided and coordinated by the contractor. Column bearing elevation and anchor bolt specifications refer to the structural sections and base plate schedule.
