A one-half inch by twelve-inch steel plate bridges the joint between two structural elements, spanning a length of fourteen feet six inches. The plate is hot-dip galvanized after fabrication for corrosion protection. Two three-quarter inch diameter anchor bolts with a five-inch embedment depth secure the tie plate into the substrate, spaced at eight inches typical.
