A 4x4x1/4 post connects to horizontal structural members using a 1/2-inch base plate secured with four 3/4-inch bolts. A diagonal brace ties into the assembly via 4x4x3/8 weld tabs attached with quarter-inch fillet welds. Web stiffeners are provided at the beam web to reinforce the connection against concentrated loads. Additional clip angles with bolted connections tie the framing elements together.
