An angle brace connects to a structural steel plate anchored against the underside of a concrete slab on metal deck. The assembly features a 1/4-inch by 15-inch by 1 foot 3-inch plate secured by four 3/4-inch diameter expansion anchors with a 3 1/4-inch embedment spaced at 12 inches on center in the deck flute. An L6x4x3/8 by 1-foot long angle member welds to the plate with 3/16-inch fillet welds. Waterproofing must be maintained between the anchors, and slab orientation may vary.
