A continuous one-quarter-inch bent plate sits atop the wide flange steel beam flange and is welded with one-quarter-inch welds. The roof deck bears on the steel beam with a two-inch minimum bearing length. Deck attachment to support is detailed with specific spacing dimensions as referenced on the plan. The deck spans in the opposite direction at similar conditions with a maximum twelve-inch reference dimension from the beam centerline. All welding can be completed in the shop or field at the contractor's option.
