An hollow structural section wind girt is supported by a structural steel beam, with the top of steel aligned to Level 2. A half-inch by six and three-quarter inch by one-foot vertical plate is centered under the hollow structural section and welded to the beam web. Three-sixteenths inch fillet welds secure the vertical plate to both the beam and the girt connection. The supporting beam size is specified per structural plans.
