A concrete grade beam is reinforced longitudinally with number six bars spaced at twelve inches each way, augmented by four additional number six bars. Transverse shear reinforcement consists of number three closed stirrups spaced at twelve inches on center. The bottom of the beam bears on subgrade prepared according to the geotechnical report. A total depth of seven feet four inches is maintained between the top and bottom reinforcement cages.
