A hollow structural section bears on a truss purlin with a one-eighth-inch weld connection. An eighteen-gauge continuous plate strap is fastened using two rows of Pneutek pins spaced per beam nailing requirements, staggered into four or six lines where required. A separate hollow structural section is sized per plan with splices located as indicated.
