A davit support pedestal is mounted to a steel beam framing into a column. The assembly features a davit socket pedestal welded to the top flange of a W12x19 beam. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web and flanges with fillet welds. A one-half-inch by four-inch plate connects the beam to the column flange, secured with a quarter-inch fillet weld.
