A metal stud wall connects to overhead metal decking with flutes running parallel to the wall alignment. Metal studs sized per schedule on drawing 1/S1.7 terminate at a slotted top track sized per drawing 6/-. A 54 mil clip attaches to the top track with two number 10 sheet metal screws, and is secured to the bottom flute of the metal decking with two number 10 sheet metal screws spaced at 16 inches on center. A 3-inch minimum dimension applies to the clip layout, maintaining a 10-inch minimum vertical clearance.
