A wide-flange beam connects to a column through a gusset plate and a bolted shear tab assembly. The gusset plate features a stiffener plate and complete joint penetration welds at the top and bottom flanges. A doubler plate is positioned at the connection where required, and the brace and gusset are detailed by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer. A three-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the doubler plate, and a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld is specified at the gusset connection. Bottom flange bracing ties into the assembly as referenced on structural details.
