Metal deck panels bear on structural steel beams sized per plan, with end and intermediate supports welded per schedule. A splice joint connects deck sections running in the same direction, requiring a two inch minimum lap when supporting beam flanges are less than two inches in width. For a change in deck direction, longitudinal supports are welded per schedule adjacent to the profile transition.
