A steel joist bears against a reinforced masonry wall with continuous reinforcing bars matching the horizontal wall reinforcing. One continuous bar is located at the deck bearing and two continuous bars are located at the joist bearing. A masonry veneer is specified per the architectural drawings. Fillet welds of three-sixteenths inch size connect the members between joists.
