A steel diagonal brace is framed to the underside of a steel beam and against a steel column, with near side and far side brace members connected using three-sixteenths inch typical fillet welds. A concrete over metal floor deck bears across the top flange of the steel beam and abuts the steel column. The steel beam connects to the steel column web via a bolted shear tab connection utilizing a vertical row of six bolts. A bent plate or angle provides additional bearing support beneath the floor deck adjacent to the column.
