A new proposed air conditioner sits on an equipment curb mounted to a level wood platform. The curb is secured using three 3/8-inch diameter by 5-inch lag screws at each side of the curb. Framing consists of 2x6 number one lumber supported in Simpson joist hangers, resting over 3/4-inch CDX plywood roof sheathing fastened with 10d screw shank nails spaced at 4 inches on center at edges and 12 inches on center intermediately. A cant strip is installed at the curb base along the roof deck.
