An HSS beam connects to the web of a wide flange beam via a bolted shear tab plate. The connection is detailed with a maximum three-quarter-inch clearance between the framing members. Stiffener plates are welded to the wide flange beam web aligned with the top and bottom of the connecting HSS member. The shear tab plate and beam stiffeners are sized per referenced structural sheets.
