Two steel beams frame into opposite sides of a steel column in a moment connection detail. Grade 50 continuity plates are provided within the column web, with a plate thickness equal to three-quarters of the flange thickness and a one-half-inch minimum. Beams connect to the column via bolted shear tabs welded to the column flanges. Additional connection information is referenced on sheet S6.1.
