A steel beam connects to a braced frame column using a welded-bolted moment connection assembly. Top and bottom continuity plates match the beam thickness and are welded across the column web. A shear tab sized to match the beam web thickness minus 1/16 inch is welded to the column face and receives three 7/8-inch diameter erection bolts. Weld access holes are provided at both the top and bottom beam flanges to facilitate the moment connection welds.
