A structural steel beam connects to a supporting girder per plan using bolted framing connections. A one-half inch plate is welded to the underside of the beam web with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds. One-inch diameter A490-X bolts secure the web and bottom plate, utilizing two vertical short slotted holes. Geometric spacing requirements maintain condition C where the dimension d1 is greater than d2 plus eleven inches and less than d2 plus sixteen inches.
