A shear tab connection joins a steel beam and a column flange. The shear tab plate is welded to the column flange with a specified weld size and clearance, while the beam web attaches with rows of bolts sized per plan and schedule. Continuity plates are provided at the beam flange levels as indicated by typical details. The dimensioning references AISC specifications for k1 distances and edge clearances.
