A structural steel brace and beam connect to a steel column at a common working point. A five-eighths-inch kerf plate welded to the column with a seven-sixteenths-inch fillet weld receives the brace member, while the intersecting beam attaches via a shear connection. The brace connection follows standard detailing with modifications specified on the drawing.
