Double joists run along each side of the roof opening or truss provided by others, supporting the surrounding roof framing per plan unless noted otherwise. Two-inch solid blocking is installed between framing members with boundary nailing over top. Fully nailed ST22 straps tie the framing assembly together across the joints. U-shaped joist hangers sized to fit the joists provide positive connection support at the opening boundaries.
