Continuity plates are placed on both sides of the column web with a thickness based on the connecting beam flanges. Dimensions for the cope and plate placement follow AISC standards for distance "k" and "k1". A cope is provided at the continuity plate with no weld specified in that zone. Additional optional continuity plates are indicated typically at the web and flange locations.
