An angle brace connects to the top chord of an open web steel joist at a panel point, sized per plan. A plate measuring one-quarter inch by four inches by six inches welds to the assembly with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld on three sides. A kicker perpendicular to the joist incorporates similar welded connections. An angle brace measuring four inches by four inches by one-quarter inch by one foot zero inches attaches where required per plan.
