An intermediate wide-flange beam connects to a wide-flange column web using a double-row bolted shear plate detailed per the schedule. One-half-inch Grade 50 plates are welded top and bottom to the column flange with five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. A one-inch clearance is maintained between the beam end and the column web, with a half-inch maximum gap. Additional shear plate and bolt configurations follow the typical special seismic force-resisting system collector beam connection detail.
