The edge of a concrete slab bears on a steel beam near the face of the cladding. A continuous bent plate acts as the edge form and receives continuous reinforcing bars with standard hooks rotated ninety degrees to fit within the slab depth. One number four continuous reinforcing bar is positioned over the steel beam, maintaining three-quarters of an inch of clearance. The steel deck spans to the beam per plan, with top of steel elevations and slab thickness specified in the project notes.
