A concrete slab on grade incorporates a maximum 0.1-inch wide sawcut contraction joint extended to a depth of t over 5 plus or minus one-quarter inch. Slab reinforcement is sized per plan with three-quarters of an inch clear cover. The slab rests on a compacted subgrade layer.
