An embed plate measuring three-eighths by fourteen inches by one foot six inches with four three-quarter-inch diameter by four-inch headed studs is cast into the underside of the post-tensioned concrete slab or beam. Two L4x3x5/16 structural angles with long legs vertical and a length of one foot each are welded to the embed plate with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds on each side. The structural angles tie into a bond beam at the top of the masonry wall, maintaining a typical top-of-wall gap. At the contractor's option, this detail can also be used at mild reinforced concrete slabs or beams.
