A wide-flange beam is supported by a seat connection welded to a wide-flange steel column. The seat assembly consists of a 3/4-inch by 7-inch by 1-foot-0-inch plate centered on the column face with a 3/8-inch fillet weld. A 3/4-inch by 7-inch by 0-foot-8-inch top plate connects the beam flange using four 7/8-inch diameter A325-N bolts with standard holes in both the beam and the plate at the usual gauge.
