An L3x3x3/8 diagonal brace connects to the top flange of the nearest steel beam supporting a concrete slab over metal floor deck. A 1/4 inch by 6 inch by 0 foot 6 inch weld plate is attached at the diagonal brace with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. The contractor may substitute the field weld with a bolted connection using two seven-eighths-inch-diameter A325 bolts. The brace member is skewed as required to meet the beam top flange.
