A hollow structural section column intersects a beam sized per plan with a one-quarter inch slope. A diagonal brace frames into a gusset plate welded to the column and beam. Fillet welds of five-sixteenth and one-quarter inch sizes secure the connection elements. A quarter-inch stiffener plate is provided where no beam is present.
