A steel column terminates at a steel base plate resting on a one-and-a-half-inch layer of non-shrink grout above a concrete footing. Anchor bolts embedded in the concrete secure the base plate and column. A concrete pour back fills around the base, and a concrete slab on grade abuts the footing.
