Boxed and back-to-back cold-formed steel jamb studs are fastened using number eight screws spaced at six inches on center staggered or on each flange depending on the configuration. At bearing walls a minimum of fifty percent of the screw count per plan is required along with a forty-three mil minimum track on the penetration side spanning the full height of the jamb or matching the stud thickness whichever is greater with a minimum flange width of one and one-quarter inches. Back-to-back jambs consist of two or three or more studs with typical screw fastenings. Jamb stud size and quantity are determined per the schedule.
