A supported steel beam connects to the web of a supporting steel beam using a welded shear tab and structural bolts. The shear tab is welded to the supporting beam web and bolted to the supported beam web with a specified number and size of bolts in the first and second rows per plan. The top of steel alignment is maintained across the connection with beam copes as needed.
