A reinforced concrete vehicle barrier wall sits atop a concrete slab, centered on the wall line with an eight-inch thickness. Vertical reinforcing steel consists of number six bars spaced at twelve inches on center each way within the wall. The wall connects to the slab below using standard hooks that extend down into the slab, accompanied by two number six minimum bars running longitudinally at the edge of the slab. The cold joint between the wall and slab is roughened to a one-quarter-inch amplitude for shear transfer.
