A mass plywood panel stair tread spans between structural steel stringers sized per plan and is anchored using L6x3x5/16 by zero-foot four-and-one-half-inch long angles. Two quarter-inch diameter by two-and-one-half-inch long screws spaced at three inches on center secure the angle to the stair tread. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld connects the angle to the stair stringer. Guardrail posts provided by others mount directly to the stair tread using a minimum of four five-sixteenths-inch diameter countersunk through-bolts.
