A supported steel beam frames into the web of a supporting steel beam using a typical shear plate connection sized per plan. The supported beam features a coped top and bottom flange adhering to the maximum cope depth per note nine and schedule A. A vertical shear plate is welded to the supporting beam web and bolted to the web of the framing beam with standard structural bolts. Top of steel elevations are maintained per plan.
