A metal deck bears on a structural steel edge beam sized per plan with a minimum 3-inch bearing width. A 12-gauge continuous metal edge form encloses the slab perimeter, reinforced with two continuous number 4 rebar and number 3 rebar spaced at 12 inches on center. Fourteen-gauge by 1-inch wide straps at a maximum 36-inch spacing anchor the assembly, secured with three-quarter-inch diameter field plug welds at 12 inches on center. A note requires the contractor to check the adequacy of the edge form.
