A steel beam connects to a hollow structural section steel column using a welded shear tab plate bolted to the beam web. The single plate shear tab is shop-welded to the face of the structural steel column and field-bolted through the beam web with three bolts. Typical bolt spacing and edge clearances are dimensioned across the connection. The detail includes structural steel framing members and welded plate connections.
