A pipe or conduit is embedded within a concrete slab-on-grade featuring a thickened edge profile over firm, undisturbed soil or compacted fill. Typical slab reinforcing is placed per plan within the typical slab thickness. The thickened section extends six inches minimum below the standard subgrade, providing twelve inches minimum clearance around the sleeve. Subgrade preparation requires firm undisturbed soil or compacted fill.
