An embed plate measuring three-quarters of an inch thick is welded to the structural steel member with a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld using E80 electrodes. Four number five ASTM A706 reinforcing bars are welded to the plate, spaced symmetrically at two inches and six inches along both the ten-inch and eleven-inch dimensions. The center line of the beam aligns with the center of the plate assembly.
